Thanksgiving Ice Cream
In the USA, the focal point at home on Thanksgiving is a large meal,
usually with a roast turkey as the main course. Celebrating with family and friends is a special time and the meal, therefore, should
also be that little bit special.
There are lots of ideas and recipes for
starters and side dishes but what do you do about dessert? Many people have
a favorite dessert that they enjoy year after year and never want to change,
whilst others like to try something new every Thanksgiving.
Traditionally, desserts have pumpkin, cranberries or ginger
as the key ingredients - such as:
Pumpkin Flan
Pumpkin Bread Pudding
Pumpkin Cupcakes
Cranberry Bread Pudding
Cranberry Cake
Cranberry & Pecan Cake
Gingerbread
Gingerbread Cupcakes
Gingerbread Souffle

For desserts that are served hot or warm, the ideal accompaniment is ice
cream - and what better than homemade ice cream, literally 'made at home'
in the true spirit of Thanksgiving. Something rich and indulgent such as crunchy pecan and maple syrup ice cream is something you might want to consider.
Whatever you do on Thanksgiving .... have a happy one!
